Antrim is a county in Northern Ireland. It is located in the northeast of the island of Ireland. It is renowned for its awesome coastal scenery and its lush green countryside. The county's history dates back some 1500 years, its origins dating to a settlement on Lough Neagh (the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles). It is an area rich in history and culture.

Antrim is home to the Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland's only World Heritage Site. The site has a tourist history dating back over three hundred years. The Causeway itself is a mass of some forty thousand basalt columns packed tightly together, the tallest of these are around forty feet high. It offers the visitor some breathtaking walks and scenic costal views, almost otherworldly in their appearance. Area folklore suggests that the Causeway was the work of giant Finn McCool, the Ulster warrior and commander of the King of Ireland's armies.

Some of Antrim's other attractions include: Antrim Lough Shore Park, renowned for its walks, boating and water sports activities; Antrim Round Tower, a 10th century structure, some 28 metres tall; Cranfield Church & Holy Well, the ruins of an ancient 13th century Irish Church.

Antrim Town has a useful tourist centre, where information on all of the county's attractions can be found and tours booked. Antrim Town is located just ten minutes from Belfast International Airport and about a forty-five minute drive from Belfast Harbour. Belfast is the county town of Antrim and the capitol city of Northern Ireland.
