Golf in Dublin at Donabate Golf Club which is located in Balcarrick, in north County Dublin. It is near Dublin Airport and just 12 miles from Dublin's city centre. It is a parkland course, but is located just half a mile from the sea, on Ireland's east coast. The course was first established in 1925 as an 18 hole, par 72. Over the last five years the course has added another nine holes, and 2003 saw the opening of a new clubhouse.
Donabate is divided into three 9-hole, par 36, sections - The Red, Yellow and Blue courses - and offers the visitor an enjoyable and challenging mixture of old and new style holes. The greens are truly top class, now sand-based to USGA standards, they offer a links-style professional golfing experience and are playable all year round. The course has something to offer golfers of all levels, abilities and experience.
Donabate Golf Club also plays host to a very fine pro shop, which is run by former European tour player, Hugh Jackson. The shop offers a wide range of golfing equipment and clothing, as well as offering rentals on selected gear. The clubhouse also offers fine dining in its restaurant, and has a well stocked snack bar.
