Thurles Golf Club is located just a half mile from the town of Thurles, in north County Tipperary, an inland county in the south of Ireland. The area has a rich agricultural heritage and the landscape of the golf course offers breathtaking views and magnificent green grass. It is located adjacent to the River Suir.
A main road divides the course, with 9 holes on either side. It is an 18-hole, par 72, championship parkland course, measuring more than 6000 yards from the medal tees. Lionel Hewson, former editor of Irish Golf, designed the course. The club's PGA professional is Sean Hunt.
Thurles Golf Club has extensive on-site facilities. There is a well-stocked pro shop, for all of your golfing needs. Cart, trolley and club hire are all available. There is a driving range and well-kept putting game for you to hone your skills, before taking on this challenging course. The clubhouse has a restaurant that serves both lunch and dinner menus, snacks are also available throughout the day. It is also home to a comfortable and relaxed bar. There are immaculate locker room facilities as well as squash courts, a sauna and a gymnasium. Conference facilities and corporate hospitality are available at the club too.
