St Helens Bay Golf Club-Golf in Wexford..
St Helen's Bay Golf Club and Resort is located in County Wexford, in the South East of Ireland; just a 5-minute drive from Rosslare Harbour. It is just a 20-minute drive from Wexford town and is situated near Kilrane village on the coast at St Helen's Bay. The Bay forms a beautiful backdrop to the entire course, with some 5000 plus trees planted on the property, making it a wonderfully scenic round of golf.
Opened in 1993, St Helen's Bay is an 18-hole, par 72, championship standard links course with a parkland flavour, set out over some 6700 yards of picturesque Wexford coastline. The course was designed by the 1995 European Ryder Cup star and Irishman, Philip Walton. In 2003, a further 9-holes were added, to offer visitors an even more challenging round. The onshore location of the course, sits perfectly amid the natural rolling hilly Wexford landscape and offers the visitor some breathtaking views of the exquisite Irish countryside, while enjoying a rewarding 18 holes.
St Helens is a large resort, with some 257 holiday cottages on-site, most of which are privately owned. There are also 5 hard-surface tennis courts and a children's playground on offer. 2002 saw the opening of the club's Golf Academy, run by course professional, Liam Bowler. Club, cart and trolley hire are all available. The clubhouse has recently been extended to include a pro shop and a restaurant, along with facilities for conferences and private functions. There is a nearby beach at Pirate's Cove, which is within walking distance of the course.
