Druids Glen Golf Club-Golf in Ireland..

Druids Glen Golf Club and Resort is located just 20 miles south of Dublin, in County Wicklow. It is situated near the little town of Newtown Mount Kennedy, about a mile from the Irish Sea and not far from the Wicklow Mountains. Built on a site that dates back to the 17th century, it is home to two very fine golf courses, Druids Glen Golf Course and Druids Heath Golf Course. Woodstock House, the resort's clubhouse was built in 1770. The site was purchased and redeveloped in 1990.

Druids Glen is a championship golf course, spanning more than 7000 yards. It is a parkland course, often referred to as "The Augusta of Europe" and was designed by veteran Irish golf course designers Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock. The design was definitely influenced by Augusta and St Andrew's, but has a style all of its own, making use of the areas natural landscape.

Druids Glen received the "European Golf Course of the Year" award from the International Association of Golf Tour Operators, for the 2000/2001 season. 2002 saw it host the Seve Trophy, a competition between the leading Tour Players from Britain, Ireland and Europe. It also played host to the Murphy's Irish Open from 1996-99. The course derives its name from a pre-Christian stone-alter, located near the green of the 12th hole that was discovered during its construction.
