Powerscourt Golf Club (East) -Golf in Wicklow..

Powerscourt Golf Club is located near the town of Enniskerry, in County Wicklow, in the Republic of Ireland. Wicklow is often referred to as the 'Garden of Ireland' and the land and scenery around Powerscourt's East golf course stand as testament to this. The course is part of the Powerscourt Estate and is some 7051 yards long. It is an 18-hole, par 72, course, set out on the property of one of Ireland's finest country houses. The estate is also home to 47 acres of gardens, a unique shopping area call the Avoca Centre, a terrace pavilion eatery and a huge garden centre.

The East Course is a wonderful compliment to its parkland sister course, Powerscourt West, as it is an impeccably maintained links-style course. Its greens were recently completely redesigned to be sand-based, in fitting with USGA standards. The surrounding scenery is spectacular, with the Sugarloaf Mountains, the nearby Irish Sea and the properties elegant tree land really adding to a refreshing golfing experience.

The course was designed with major competitions in mind, by one of Ireland's foremost golf course architects, Peter McEvoy (a former Walker Cup captain). Opened in 1996, it has already hosted the Smurfit Irish PGA Championship (1998) and 2001 saw the AIB European Senior Tour played on this fine course.
