Powerscourt Golf Club is located on the 1000 acre Powerscourt Estate, near the village of Enniskerry, in County Wicklow. It is located just outside the Irish capitol, Dublin, in the heart of the so-called 'Garden of Ireland'. It is situated amid some truly stunning scenic countryside, between the Sugarloaf Mountains and the Irish Sea. The club is home to two very fine and contrasting golf courses, Powerscourt East and Powerscourt West.
Powerscourt West Golf Course is the newer of the two. It is a parkland course, with links characteristics (USGA standard tees and greens), championship tees and was built with top-class tournaments in mind. The course layout and design is the work of David McLay Kidd, whose other work includes the famous Bandon Dunes course, in Oregon USA.
The course is an 18-hole, par 72, set out over more than 6400 yards, built for championships, but playable by golfers of all levels and experience. If boasts a wide variety of holes, to offer the visitor a truly challenging round of golf in this wonderful countryside setting.
The Powerscourt estate that surrounds the course is home to some 47 acres of stunning gardens, a shopping area called Avoca, a renowned garden centre and a fine eatery. It also boasts facilities for conferences, receptions and private functions.
