Claregalway cottages are not in as great supply as in other Galway towns. However, self catering in Claregalway is available either in the town itself or nearby. Children, in particular, enjoy this form of accommodation as it is possible to maintain a routine and also to cook their favourite foods with little fuss. If you have any special needs, such as a cot, simply ask the owner and he/she will do their utmost to accommodate you. Claregalway is a lovely village situated in East Galway. The Franciscan Abbey is particularly worth seeing. Only about six miles from the city centre, one can easily make day trips into Galway itself. Oranmore cottages remain a popular form of holiday accommodation. This is partly due to Oranmore itself which is a picturesque area near Galway Bay. It is also due, though, to the excellent cottages in Oranmore. Traditional cottages compete with purpose built holiday homes in order to satisfy tourist needs. Expect higher rates from July to late September which is considered the peak season. Every possible requirement is catered for, from gardens (suitable for summer barbeques) to washer/dryers and T.V.
