Louth is an attractive town in the Irish Midlands. The area boasts plenty of attractions to suit all tastes, and it is famed for its friendly residents. Monasterboice is a former monastic settlement founded in the 5th century. Another area of religious significance is the lovely Saint Peter’s Church in Drougheda. This stunning building is one of the finest Gothic Revival churches in the country. Visitors should also take a trip to view the impressive Proleek Dolmen and the nearby wedge tomb.
