Many owners tend to be hands on should you require any advice or help and most live within the vicinity of the cottage. When checking rates, make sure to note that electricity and heat will also be added to your bill. A deposit may also be required.
Carna is a picturesque town with a traditional feel. Enjoy the views of the nearby bay or try some of the famous fishing of the area.

Galway City Centre self catering accommodation provides an excellent means of exploring the city. Self catering in Galway City centre tends to be mostly apartments though you will also find town houses and more traditional homes too. The most central location is Eyre Square, the centre of the city’s nightlife. Galway City is busy most times of the year so booking well in advance is highly recommended. For those with families, check how child-friendly the accommodation is. The city is easy to navigate and a car may not be necessary unless you wish to travel away from the centre. None the less, parking facilities are available in most self catering accommodation.

Spread out, as Connemara is, from Mayo to Galway, and with scenery which can be remote, cottages in Connemara are often situated in places which tourists tend to overlook. Self catering offers the opportunity to view beautiful landscapes as well as the flexibility to travel to other parts during any stay. Cottages in Ballinasloe are plentiful. The peak times are the summer and autumn months when the weather is at its best so advanced booking during this time is recommended. Ballinasloe cottages tend to be traditional in exterior and are steeped in character. All, though, also offer every modern convenience.
Ballinasloe is a lovely village dominated by the Grand Canal. Portumna is only minutes away and has a great nightlife and superb restaurants.

There is a huge amount of self catering in Salthill, testament to the popularity of this part of Galway. Salthill self catering varies from cottages, to townhouses to apartments. Four-star is the most luxurious type running down to 1-star. One should expect clean linen, washing facilities and TV as standard. If you have special requirements enquire with the owner, most will be only too willing to help. Owners are also a good source of information for local pubs, restaurants etc.
Salthill is a lovely seaside resort which is especially recommended for families. Galway City is only a few minutes drive away. Have you ever vacationed in Salthill? If so tell us your experience. We would love to hear from you.

Up to recently Claregalway hotels did not exist. Thankfully the Claregalway Hotel has recently been built to fill the void. It has everything a modern hotel should have. It has its own conference centre and leisure centre featuring a swimming pool, gym and Jacuzzi. Forty-eight guestrooms are available with an emphasis on comfort. Fresh local produce is served in the restaurant while live bands play at the weekends.
Claregalway is a lovely village situated in East Galway. It is only about six miles from the city centre and its attractions while the Aran Islands and Connemara are also easily accessible. For all Hotels in Galway see the link here.

Clybaun Hotel-Hotel in Knocknacarra GalwayThursday, July 13th, 2006
The Clybaun Hotel is only major hotel in Knocknacarra. However, as a relatively new establishment all its facilities are of the highest quality. All 92 guestrooms are luxurious and en-suite. A leisure centre is on site as are a spa, bar and bistro.
Knocknacarra is very close to Salthill and its lovely beaches and water activities. The best of Connemara is not far away; neither are the scenery of the Aran Islands and the woodland of Barna.

The only Clarinbridge hotel to speak of in the town is the Clarinbridge Court Hotel. This hotel is quite reasonably priced and modern and has 51 luxury bedrooms. Turf fires, a beauty salon and library are just some of the special touches which can be expected here. For the mountain climber or fishing enthusiast Leenane is paradise. Headford is a popular north Galway town. A known fishing spot, it is located near the Black River. Places of interest include Killursa Church and Ross Erilly Friary.

Hotels in Kinvara mainly consist of the Merriman Hotel. This is a three star establishment, which is noteworthy for having the largest thatched roof in the country. This very much hints at the character of the hotel which is traditional with an emphasis on homegrown produce served in its restaurant. Its 32 rooms are well appointed and comfortable.
Kinvara is a sea village located on the south of Galway Bay. Places of interest include the Dun Guaire Castle. Once an ancestral home, it has been renovated to include every modern comfort. Notable extras include its swimming pool, gym and Jacuzzi. The Quality Hotel is a larger hotel and also comes equipped with a leisure centre and gym. One hundred and ten rooms are available and a steakhouse, bar and café are also available for residents use.

Shannon Oaks Hotel and Country Club is the only hotel in Portumna, however, it is a reliable three star hotel of quality. The hotel is a mid-sized manor house, with 63 guestrooms, which has been beautifully renovated. Two bars and a restaurant are located inside while its exterior is enhanced by its proximity to the Earls of Clanricarde estate.
Portumna is beautifully located on the shores of Lough Derg. A good way of exploring its scenery is to follow the walking trail of the Portumna Forest Park. Angling and horse riding are popular pursuits in the area.

Galway City Centre hotels provide the best accommodation from which to enjoy this great city. The Hotels in Galway are popular throughout the year as Galway continues to live up to its reputation as possibly the liveliest city in Ireland! Many hotels are situated in Galway’s central point, Eyre Square. Others are located elsewhere but are still only minutes walk away from some of Galway’s best attractions.
Galway City has some of Ireland’s best nightlife due in part to its large student population. Its arts scene is also excellent and an Arts Festival is held every July.
