Kildare is a charming county in the east of Ireland. The county offers plenty of attractions for visitors travelling through the area, and Kildare town is a wonderful place to start. The friendly town is famed for its many wonderful restaurants. Visitors to Celbridge, should take some time to explore the opulent surroundings of Castletown House. Holidaymakers should also visit the racehorse breeding grounds of the National Stud, and the stunning landscape of the Japanese and St Fiachra’s Gardens.

Kildare is an attractive county in eastern central Ireland. Located in the province of Leinster, the county is home to a population of over 186,000 inhabitants. Some of the most popular tourist towns within the county include the pretty area of Monasterevin, which boasts the 6th century Moore Abbey. Another popular area is the pretty, colourful town of Celbridge, and the bustling student town of Maynooth. Kildare town is the oldest area in the county, and it is home to historic buildings such as the lovely Kildare Cathedral. The area is also famed for its involvement in horseracing.

This, perhaps, reflects the character of a town which until recently has been known primarily as the location of one of the country’s finest universities, NUI, Maynooth and St Patrick’s Seminary. The Glenroyal offers a great range of facilities from a leisure centre to the nightclub and restaurant. Its singular status in the town is reflected in the friendly atmosphere and courteous staff. The Curragh hotels are all dominated by one thing; their proximity to the world-famous racecourse. Physically located hotels in the Curragh are limited to one, the Standhouse Hotel, which is located directly opposite the course. Other hotels, such as the Keadeen Hotel, are located in nearby towns though are still noteworthy for their convenience to the Curragh. Hotels in Celbridge Unfortunately, Celbridge has only one hotel on offer.  However, this one choice is the Setanta House which boasts some beautiful suites complete with four-poster beds. Once an eighteenth-century school, it still retains a historical character mixed with modern comfort. It is ideally located to take in the nearby golf and race courses.Celbridge is a quaint Kildare village with such areas of interest as Castletown House and Celbridge Abbey. Hotels in Newbridge-Newbridge Hotels Kildare

Hotels in Newbridge are strictly limited to one, the Keadeen Hotel. However, don’t let this put you off for the Keadeen Hotel is an excellent four star Newbridge hotel with everything you could hope for. A family-run hotel, it has combined this intimacy with modern facilities such as a conference and leisure centre. Newbridge, itself, is a town on the up. Ideally located to enjoy horseracing at the nearby Curragh it also has a personality all of its own. Ireland’s newest shopping centre has recently opened here and the town boasts a fine range of pubs and restaurants.We also would love to hear your holiday experiences in Newbridge. The Ryder Cup Ireland 2006

The Ryder Cup Ireland takes place in County Kildare in September 2006. This event will be the largest ever sporting event ever held in Ireland. The Ryder Cup 2006 promises to be spectacular. It is being hosted by The K Club in Straffan County Kildare. Accommodation is already heavily booked. The US and European teams are as yet not finalised but whatever happens this golf tournament will provide millions of viewers with thrills a plenty.
