Limerick is a lively county on the south west coast of Ireland. The city itself is home to plenty of attractions from fantastic restaurants and bars, to historic sights such as King John’s Castle or St Mary’s Cathedral. Outside the city, visitors should certainly take a trip to the pretty towns of Adare and Foynes. Another popular tourist attraction is the fascinating Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. History buffs should be sure to visit the fascinating remains of a Stone Age settlement at Lough Gur.

Limerick is a county in the province of Munster. Located in Ireland’s mid-west, the county is home to a population of almost 184,000 inhabitants. Much of the county’s landscape belongs to what is known as, the Golden Vale, a lush collection of hills, mountains, woodlands and green pastures that link the counties of Limerick, Tipperary and Cork. Popular destinations in Limerick include Adare (considered Ireland’s prettiest town) and Lough Gur (a lovely horse-shoe lake). The city of Limerick is a bustling, modern area home to a young and vibrant population.

The county is located in the south west of Ireland, and it is home to plenty of attractions to entertain holidaymakers. Hotels in Limerick City must meet many requirements. Limerick City hotels have a variety of clients, from those wishing to explore Shannon countryside, to business travelers to those drawn to the hubbub of the city itself. Thankfully Limerick has a hotel to suit every need. Most tend to be three star or above and are ideally located for travel from Shannon Airport.
Limerick City is the capital of the Shannon region. Its history is seen in its Viking castles and walls. Limerick has recently gained a reputation for the arts seen most noteably in the fabulous Hunt Museum. It also has a lively nightlife with some excellent restaurants.

Ballingarry hotels are limited to one; the Mustard Seed at Echo Lodge Hotel. This is a former convent with a lovely atmosphere. Stroll in its gardens or eat in its fine restaurant with its home grown food. Rooms are limited to seventeen so advanced booking is necessary.
Ballingarry is a pretty village. It is located in the centre of Limerick making further exploration of the county easy.

Castletroy hotels are two of the best in all of Limerick. With Hotels in Castletroy such as the Castletroy Park Hotel and the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel you will be spoilt for choice. The Castletroy Park Hotel is a large hotel with over one hundred rooms. It has conference, wedding and leisure facilities and has been awarded a four star rating. The Kilmurry Lodge is a three star hotel with an emphasis on business facilities such as conference rooms and broadband. It, too, has over one hundred rooms.
Castletroy is an increasingly popular location and is home to the University Arena and the large University Concert Hall.

Castle Oaks House Hotel, as the only Castleconnell hotel, has a lot to live up to. Thankfully the hotel is as elegant as its surrounds. It is a four star hotel with over sixty rooms. It is set in beautiful gardens and has a spa and leisure centre.
Castleconnell is a picturesque village with a laid-back way of life. Fishing is a popular activity for tourists. Walking is the best way to explore the town while in the evening there are plenty of fine restaurants and pubs in which to experience local hospitality.

The Courtenay Lodge Hotel may be the only hotel in Newcastle West but it still seems to strive to offer the best service possible. It has a three star rating with traditional style furnishings inside. Its restaurant is also popular and reasonably priced.
Newcastle is primarily known for its dairy farming but it does have much to offer any visitor. It has an interesting history with its castle remaining intact. Fishing, golfing and tennis are also popular in the area.

The one hotel in Templeglantine is the Devon Inn Hotel. This is a three star hotel with sixty rooms available. Though traditional in character it does have every modern facility. It houses both a lounge and pub and has a restaurant and garden. It also plays host to both weddings and conferences.
Templeglantine is a medium sized town located six miles from Newcastle West. It enjoys some beautiful scenery, which can be appreciated by partaking in the Southern Walking Trail.

Adare hotels are plentiful so you should have no problem in selecting one which meets your requirements. However, booking in advance is recommended, as hotels in Adare tend to reach capacity in peak seasons.
The most luxurious of Adare hotels is the Adare Manor Hotel complete with golf course, spa and equestrian centre. You will find, though, that all hotels in Adare are of good quality. All come with a minimum three star rating.
Adare is a picturesque thatched village. You will feel you have stepped back in time with its medieval churches and Tudor-style houses. For something a bit livelier head to Limerick City, only ten miles away.

Abbeyfeale Hotels are limited to just the one, Leens Hotel. It is ideally located on the Main Street making exploration of the town easy. A traditional bar is located in the hotel with carvery lunch served every day. Only nineteen rooms are available so be sure to book well in advance.
Abbeyfeale is a small, friendly town with a good range of pubs. Located on the Limerick/Kerry border, exploration of either county is perfectly executed from this town.

County Limerick Ireland is located in the western part of Ireland. The city of Limerick lies on the banks of Ireland's largest river-The River Shannon. Limerick has a proud reputation for its rugby and is home to the Munster rugby team which in May 2006 won the Heineken European Cup fr the first time creating sens of unbridalled joy in the city.
As this post is new the goal is to in time provide as much useful information on County Limerick as possible to include tips on car rental, accommodation, restaurants and pubs in Limerick.
