Roscommon is a pretty county in central Ireland. Located in the province of Connacht, the county is home to a population of over 58,500 inhabitants.  The county is crossed by the River Shannon, and it is famed for the lush farmland and beautiful lakes that dot it. The county boasts plenty of attractions, not least the lovely Lough Key Forest Park, which is situated in the town of Boyle. Other attractions include the ancient Drumanone Dolmen and Boyle Abbey.

Restaurants in Roscommon offer a wide variety of choices, whether you’re craving gourmet cuisine or a fast food sugar rush. Located in western central Ireland, the county’s larger towns (such as Roscommon and Athlone) are home to plenty of restaurants serving both traditional Irish cuisine and cookery from across the globe. Of the two Castlerea hotels, Tully’s is more centrally located in the town itself. It is small and family run and offers traditional food. The Abbey Hotel is the only hotel in Roscommon Town. As a moderate town this hotel suits its needs and it seems to strive to meet the demands of a varied clientele. It is a converted 18th century manor house and still retains many historical touches. It has a secluded feel, surrounded as it is by gardens. Fifty bedrooms are located here including family rooms, and new conference facilities and a leisure centre have been recently added. Roscommon is a small town with a large range of facilities.
