Carraig Hotel is the only hotel in Carrick-on-Suir. It is, however, of reasonable price and has been awarded a three star rating. Located on the main street, it provides a convenient base from which to explore the town. Prior booking is highly recommended as the hotel has only 24 suites. If not, Carrick-on-Suir also has some excellent guesthouses. Carrick-on-Suir is a town located partly in Tipperary and partly Waterford though its official address is the former. A highlight of any visit is the Tipperary Crystal Shop, which is located here. Fishing, golfing and horseriding are also excellent ways of taking in the beauty of the town’s surrounds. Its a long way to Tipperary, its a long way to go-so go the lines in the famous song. Tipperary however can be easily accessed from most parts of Ireland as it is reasonably centrally located. The county has a rich tradition in farming and gaelic games especially hurling. We will be adding lots of useful details and posts on all aspects of Tipperary in the coming weeks and months ahead.
